Later that evening, I opened the envelope and found information about what they do and I learned the program is for veterans. Also included was a folded paper that turned out to be a certificate. When I started to read the certificate I started to cry. Bozley's vet, Dr. Courtney Wiegard, had made a "generous donation" to the veterans' service dog program "in memory of Bozley". (crying again)

I have had good experiences in the past with this vet hospital, however recently called and the lady who answered the phone (Alayna) was a real smart Aleck when she was asked to clarify something ... not very welcoming and def. not a good way to keep customers!

I think they do well in the care given. But when I checked other places for pricing I was paying double here. I was given a price on my cats teeth of $250.00 at one place and Vinton vet said between $400.00-$600.00. I wouldn't have minded a bit more but that seems like robbery to me.

Dr. Wiegard has not only been our vet, but a true friend who, when we needed to be sure we would do what was right for Bozley, came through for us yet again. When it was time to end Bozley's pain Dr. Wiegard got on the floor with him, kissed him, said good bye ,and stayed with us until his pain stopped forever.

I boarded my dog for a week while on vacation, and they took great care of her. The price was very reasonable too. The Vets and staff here are awesome.

The biggest fear I had relocating to Roanoke was losing the relationship I had with my vet. Recently I had a litter of pug puppies and had two pretty significant health scares, including dealing with a very sick puppy. The staff and the vets at Vinton were amazing. The genuine care they have for the animals shows and I am so lucky that Dr. Wiegard was able to help me get this little one stable. Would not hesitate to recommend their services to anyone.

It has been about 5 weeks since we laid Bozley to rest. We are still trying to realize he's gone which, at times, is still difficult. Yesterday, I got the mail and found an envelope from St. Francis Service Dogs and assumed it was a request for a donation. I put the envelope aside and went about my routine.

If you are local and in need a veterinarian who is professional, competent, compassionate, and always available, check out Vinton Veterinary Hospital and ask for Dr. Wiegard.
